How To Create An Intuitive Routine

If you struggle with following a routine and feel like structure is the missing piece to your day, then tune in. In today's episode we share our take on have routines for your business. As an Intuitive + Productive Brand Strategist Danielle walks us through a framework that helps you breakdown smaller routines you can follow throughout the day based off your energy level to avoid guilt, and stay true to your need for flexibility. We both pride ourselves being able to follow intuition, but also succeed with a structure that makes us feel most like ourselves.

What are routines:

Routines are what you do on a regular basis whether it’s planned or not. According to dictionary.com a routine is: a sequence of actions regularly followed; a fixed program.

Whether you realize it or not, you have built in routines. From a really early age we were “programmed” with the routine that worked for others. Now, as entrepreneurs, it’s time to become aware of the routines we want to have vs the one we think should have.

Personally, I believe you should have different routines for the same tasks based on your energy level. For instance, if you wake up with low energy but have to a shit load of work to do, what’s the morning routine you can do to reserve the energy you have and what would help you get more energy in that moment? It’s not going to be the same routine you would do if you woke up with high energy.

Why are routines important:

Intentional routines are essential in life, but especially when you are self-employed. It’s important to be conscious of the routines you currently have as well as the ones you are shifting to because you might unknowingly create an energy sucking routine. If that happens you will be in a perpetual state of burnout.

When to update your routine:

When you start recognizing major change whether that’s set backs in your life or extreme growth in your business, it’s time to re-evaluate your routines. When change happens in our lives, thats when our energy shifts the most, so make sure you are checking in with yourself, upgrading and updating as need be.

When first implementing a burnout prevention strategy:

Low energy routine "so boring that you don't need motivation to show up for it".

Medium energy routine is when you have energy but you know you’re not at the top of your game.

High energy routines are when you feel like you are on top of the world, you can and WANT to do everything - be careful, this one is sneaky.

I help the members of my Consciously Creative community implement daily routines, systems and rituals to make them more intentional with their decisions, process what they’re feeling and thinking, and help them go from burnout to breakthrough.

But today, I’m going to do a case study to help show you how to work around your energy and creating an intuitive routine.
